The song of the day is Luka from the 1987 album Solitude Standing by singer-songwriter Suzanne Vega. The song is written about, and from the point of view of, an abused child. Tom’s Diner, another hit on the same album, was recorded a cappella and was remixed in 1990 as a dance track by English duo DNA.
